Limerick County Enterprise board engages with social networking

LCOEB have begun a program if improving communication and networking possibilities by joining the most popular online sites. They have pages on LinkedIn and IGOpeople also a twitter page ( with some nice graphics I must say! ) and with a Facebook page to follow soon. They also are starting a blog as well and promise to keep it regularly updated with contributions from the Mentors that are used to such great effect for one to one training.

I think this show some forward thinking on their part and is an example to other government bodies that social networking holds some amazing opportunities to engage with your client base in an easy to use format.
So thumbs up to LCOEB and all the other boards should take note of the right way to do it!
I will be keeping you updated with any other interesting developments from LCOEB

Went To Unigolf today - excellent setup! Allweather Golf for Limerick

No thats not Me!
Due to the miserable weather today I decided to give the Unigolf place a try as the two kids were bouncing off the walls.

I have to say that the setup is amazing! first we decided to try the simulator for half an hour. You rent out the room so all 3 of us had a go.
Confirmed that my decision to stick with pitch and putt was a good one I can't drive a ball to save my life!!
The graphics are great and you can play on loads of different courses.
Its a full swing simulator ( before today I had no idea what that was ) so you blast the ball at the screen that the course is projected on to ( it does not bource back ) sensors then translate that into an actual shot on the computer.

After our half hour we went out on the 18 hole putting course. What a laugh. Amazing how competitive you get after the first one or 2 holes! my ball ended up in the water 3 times as we went round and I have to say I found the greens hard enough so you really have to concentrate its good practice.

Sorry if im whittering on a bit but I'm just glad to have found somewhere I can go with the kids when its raining besides the bowling alley! and Its good value we killed a good 2 and a half hours.
The website for Unigolf is http://www.unigolfclub.com/ they are doing introductory golf lessons for kids at the moment also

Photographs from Feile Brian Boru 2009

Went along to Feile Brian Boru in Killaloe and Ballina today and I must say it was a very well organised day and all who attended had a lot of fun despite the weather!

There was Dragon boat racing as well as powerboats. A nice market and Rellihans Adare farm were there with an amazing pig on a stick BBQ - YUM!. Today was the final day of the week long festival and it just seems to get bigger and better each year.

But what I enjoyed most was the Animal Magic display of rescued animals. These people do Trojan work and deserve all the support they can get. Visit - http://www.animalmagic.ie/ for more information.
The Full Gallery is on Munster Images

New Limerick and Munster Events Guide - Find our whats in on Limerick

We have just added the Limerick Event Guide to the Munsterbusiness.ie website and hope to keep it up to date with events in the Limerick and Munster region. If you have an event coming up in the next few months and want to promote it for free then pop over to the Limerick Events Guide Page and send in a request for an entry. To stop spam entries the Calendar is moderated so just fill in the form and you event will be added ASAP. We hope to make this the prime location to find out what events are upcoming in the Limerick and Munster area as at the minute information is spread across many different sites and its not easy to see at a glance what is on over a particular weekend. It is also intended as a resource for visitors to Limerick and the Mid West so get those local events flowing in!
